HIT BBC comedy Little Britain is set to make a TV comeback — 12 years after the last series.
Comic David Walliams has confirmed plans for a full return, which will see him reunited with co-writer and co-star Matt Lucas. The pair had already trialled a comeback in a one-off Radio 4 episode about Brexit in October.

Walliams, 48, said: “I would say there will definitely be some more Little Britain coming. I can’t say when exactly but at the right time and place. It was fun coming back for radio because that’s where we started.
“We had to put it together quite quickly as it was about Brexit. Plus no one expected us to come back on the radio. You would have expected Comic Relief or a big live tour. The reaction was great, which was encouraging.”
Walliams, who is hosting the National Television Awards next week, added: “Matt and I have been getting lots of offers to do more things together again. We just need to decide whether it is revisiting something we’ve already done or working on something brand new or doing both those things.”
Despite the show’s popularity, it was often criticised for its portrayal of minority groups and could fall foul of today’s PC and “woke” audiences.

Walliams said: “You’d definitely do it differently because it’s a different time. There’s all kinds of tolerances that change.” But he insisted the show was not mocking minorities and said: “You’ve got to understand comedy for me is celebrating things.”
Lucas has also said: “We made a more cruel comedy than I’d do now.”
Little Britain first aired in 2003 and ran for four series, the last in 2008. There have also been a handful of specials, with the last for TV a Comic Relief sketch in 2016.
Prior to October’s radio special, Walliams and Lucas had not worked together since 2010 comedy Come Fly With Me. Lucas, 45, said in his autobiography their relationship became strained and they were often “at loggerheads”.
